HOW DOES IT WORK
Walls, brick in particular, are usually porous and will let in water within hours so a property’s entire perimeter has to be protected if floodwater is to be prevented from entering.
Flodef’s system successfully does this up to 1m deep on a normal building wall. We believe our approach is unique.
Each property is surveyed and a total solution agreed with the customer and checked with our Engineering Consultants. All work is undertaken by our own installation teams.
The ‘Flodef New-Build’ system protects properties above and below ground by isolating the structure within a waterproof membrane barrier.
Suitable Monarflex membranes are installed within the structure to protect it from potential sources of flooding and openings are protected by Flodef’s patented system which is simply pulled up when floods threaten.
The system can be deployed effectively from inside or outside the property and is designed specifically for one person to install within 10 minutes without the use of heavy tools. The property walls hold back the weight of floodwater and the system prevents it from entering the property.
Normal wall design will usually hold back up to 1m of floodwater, higher floods can be contained but the structure will usually require reinforcing to deal with the greater stresses.
If ground conditions around your property might lead to water coming through your floors, Flodef’s surveyor will draw it to your attention when reporting on the initial survey, suggest possible means by which rising water can be dealt with and advise you of the additional cost of protection.
