OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
When you receive a Flood Warning from the Environment Agency or your local flood warning system is activated Do Not Panic follow these instructions to easily deploy your Flodef system.
The System is deployed in 5 quick and easy steps as outlined
Step 1. Remove the grommet from the lid and place the lid key provided in the opening ensuring it is located in the hole with the pins located in the slot.
Step 2. Turn the hand key ¼ turn CLOCKWISE to Open the lid of the box and remove the key.
Step 3. Using the pump blow any debris off the vale catch heads in the uprights and then take hold of the membrane top rail with both hands about 50mm in from the uprights and lift the membrane evenly keeping it horizontal until it clicks and locks into the valve catches in the upright guide seals.
Step 4. Replace the key in the slot and turn the hand key ¼ turn
Anti-clockwise to Close the lid of the box, remove the key and replace the grommet.
Step 5. Remove the dust cap and connect the Electric Pump (supplied) and inflate the uprights using the 12v Electric pump provided to 28-30lbs psi ( Do not inflate the uprights without having fully closed the box lid first and do not inflate over the maximum set. YOU COULD DAMAGE THE INFLATABLES IF YOU IGNORE THIS INSTRUCTION) and replace the dust cap.
Repeat steps 1 5 for each section of the system until they are all deployed. Do a final visual check to make sure that each side seals have been properly inflated ( by tapping the sheet, which should be taught) and that the lid covers are fully locked closed with the lid key-hole grommet properly in place.
Leave the Main Entrance Door section until last for access and deploy when Flooding is Imminent. The system is now Deployed and ready to protect you.
NOTE: On the entry door, large window openings and deep reveals place the plywood / aluminium support panels provided with the system behind the relevant sheets, they can be positioned prior to raising the system.
When all sections are deployed we recommend as per Environment Agency Guidelines that you vacate your property whilst flooding is in progress.
The system is now Deployed and ready for use.
As soon as possible after the Floods have subsided it is recommended that you take down your system and store it back in the ducts. To do this please follow these steps.
Step 1. Carefully wash down all mud and residue deposits from the system including the sheet membrane being careful not to damage it and remove any ply / aluminium support panels.
Step 2. Remove the dust cap and using the end cap depress the valve to release the air then replace the dust cap.
Step 3. Remove the grommet from the lid and place the lid key provided in the opening. Turn the lid key ¼ Turn Clockwiseto open the lid of the box.
Step 4. Press the release buttons at the top face of each of the uprights to release the membrane from the valve catches. ( if it does not release readily just press it in and gently tap down on the head rail next to the upright) Ensure the membrane fully retracts into the Box (you may help it do so by raising it slightly and letting it lower back down in stages).
Step 5. Turn the lid key ¼ turn Anti-clockwise to Close the lid of the box, remove the key and replace the grommet.
The system is now stored ready for the next deployment.
We recommend that after a Flood and deployment you contact the company as per your service contract.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOUR SYSTEM HAS BEEN DEPLOYED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME (e.g. 2 weeks or over) IT MAY NOT RETRACT EASILY AS THE MEMBRANE MAY HAVE BEEN DEFORMED AND WILL TAKE TIME TO RESHAPE ALSO THE SPRING TENSIONING ON THE ROLLER MAY HAVE BECOME REDUCED.
IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES PLEASE CONTACT THE COMPANY WHO WILL ARRANGE FOR AN ENGINEER TO ASSIST YOU WITH THE STORAGE OF THE SYSTEM AND CHECK THE SYSTEM FOR ANY VISUAL DAMAGE.
